Nine of the drivers were involved in traffic crashes. Three were under the age of 21.
The numbers of arrests by district were: South Hilo, 18; Kona, 12; Puna, 3; Hamakua and South Kohala, 2 each; and North Kohala, 1.
So far this year, there have been 884 DUI arrests compared to 904 during the same period last year, a decrease of 2.2 percent.
There have been 923 major accidents so far this year compared to 869 during the same period last year, an increase of 6.2 percent.
So far this year, there were 24 traffic fatalities on the Big Island compared to 15 during the same period last year, an increase of 60 percent.
To date, 12 fatalities were related to impaired driving: five to drugs; one to alcohol; and six were a combination of both.
DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue islandwide.
